The arcanist weaves a spell that touches the mind of a ‘small’ or smaller beast, including juvenile versions of larger beasts (other creatures are possible at the referee’s discretion). The beast increases its intelligence to 4 and its wisdom to 10 if they aren’t already higher. They learn one language spoken by the arcanist, though their ability to do more than merely understand it is restricted by their physiology. Furthermore, they are permanently charmed by the caster, though it can still make the decision to leave the arcanist’s party if its trust is breached or if it is otherwise abused.
